You do need to share the room with fellow travelers but if you don’t mind interesting conversations and are confident that you can keep your valuables safe, booking hostels can be a cost-effective way to stay.

Of course, you won’t get free dinners or hotel-like amenities in a hostel. You can expect a pleasant stay, albeit with not much to do inside your room. You also won’t have a pool or sun loungers unless you’re staying in a really fancy hostel!

We’ve stayed in hostels many times and as avid backpackers, we can assure you- the hosts are usually warm and welcoming, and guests are just like you but sometimes, you might run into annoying folks. You should definitely make sure nothing you own gets stolen. But other than that, hostels are pretty cheap, starting at $10 and the prices mainly depend on the services provided!

University dorms

Staying in a university dorm can be an unconventional way to stay in Indianapolis, and while you will be saving some money by staying in a dorm room, you certainly won’t get free amenities or privacy.
